Verizon Team Information
Verizon and its employees will be a strong, positive force in the communities in which they live and work, serving millions of volunteer hours annually. The Verizon Foundation was launched on July 3, 2000 to serve the nonprofit community on behalf of Verizon Communications, America's number one wireline and wireless company, with more than 112 million access lines and more than 27 million wireless subscribers.

The Verizon Foundation will invest million in support of the communities we serve from Hawaii to Maine in 2001, making us one of the top ten largest corporate foundations in the United States. The company is lending its full support through the Verizon Foundation company match. Join hundreds of Verizon employees, and their families and friends around the nation in an important quest to end leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and Hodgkin's lymphoma. Let's band together and end these terrible cancers.

Ed Beckley, manager - enterprise solutions marketing services, will serve as national Verizon team captain for the Light The Night® Walk in 2001, as he did for the first two years of the event. Our employees raised nearly 260,000 for the Society through the 1999 and 2000 walks, including the Verizon Foundation company match. The Foundation will match funds that employees raise, dollar for dollar.

Your West Virginia captain is David W. McDaniel, TMR CSAV/Welcome Center, Charleston WV.

David is serving his second year as captain for the West Virginia area. All WV Verizon employees should contact David for details on signing up.
